Projektbeschreibung:
FrostGuard: This project aims to develop novel drone swarm technology against late frost events. Mixing warm air floating on cold air by means of a drone swarm can become a sustainable way of late-frost protection. Our part is to transfer the vertical motion of dance flies to a drone swarm. FFG funded three-years project.
WanzenDrohne: This project aims to develop a bug suction and bug control system for orchards based on a ground robot and an air drone. The AI-operating sensor in the field detects invasive bug species by means of their intra-specific vibratory signals. This AI-sensor is connected to the internet and is able to trigger the operation of a ground robot and an air drone that removes the bugs from the substrate via strong vibrations and a special suction device. FFG funded two-years project.
BiolKollAvoid: This project developed a semi-automated collision avoidance technology for air drones based on the neurophysiology of collision detecting neurons of gregarious locusts. Drone flight is risky and the operator often is too slow to prevent impending collisions. This device uses two high-speed cameras to avoid collisions optically. FFG funded 3-years project.
MammoBee: This project developed an insect vision-based algorithm that runs on a device for the denoising of X-ray mammography images.
Mammographic image data is often rather noisy and this algorithm removes a great portion of noise. aws funded 2-years project
Droso_Ex: development of a novel trap for the control of invasive fruit flies in vineyards. Invasive fruit flies are known for their damaging potential and this trap should specifically attract these flies to a trap.
Lino_Ex: development of a novel pesticide based on linseed oil against gregarious locuts.
